Learn to ski with your classmates.
Ski Club is a parent-organized program for St. Bart's families in grades 2 through 8. Five Friday trips to Whitetail — bus from school, an hour of lessons, rental gear, and pizza on the way. No experience necessary. Last season, roughly three out of four of our skiers had never been on a mountain before.
The 2027 season
Five Fridays, January through February.
Ski Club runs five Friday trips to Whitetail Mountain Resort in Mercersburg, Pennsylvania — about ninety minutes from campus and one of the closest mountains to the D.C. area. Students travel together by charter bus and return the same evening.
Trips are spaced across January and February so children build on the previous outing rather than starting over each time. That rhythm is the reason beginners progress so quickly.
Dates are not final yet. We are working through the calendar and will publish all five dates here as soon as they are confirmed. Email us and you'll have them the moment they're set.
Who can join
Open to grades 2 through 8.
Ski Club is open to St. Bart's students in second grade through eighth grade. A full day on a mountain — bus travel, rental fittings, lessons, and evening skiing — asks a lot of a child, and this is the range where it works well.
Eligible Not eligible this season
Preschool, kindergarten, and first grade are not eligible. We know that's disappointing for some families with a younger sibling who wants to come along, and we appreciate your understanding.
Complete beginners
The largest group by far. Lessons start from the very beginning — how boots buckle, how to stand up, how to ride a lift.
Returning skiers
Students who have skied before are grouped with peers at their level and keep moving up through the season.
Skiers and snowboarders
Both are accommodated. Families choose on the registration form and can change their mind before the season starts.

$300 – $350 per student to Ski Club, plus Whitetail's Slope Days fee.
